Braided River Awareness & Fundraising Art Auction in Christchurch

This image is a detail of one of my works to be auctioned "Aoraki Gold" featuring an ornately detailed Kaki (Black Stilt bird) wading in Lake Pukaki with Aoraki Mt Cook in the background.

Four of my gorgeously framed limited edition prints of native New Zealand birds will be up for auction with proceeds going to the Kaki Recovery Programme.  Join in on the silent art auction, food, wine and entertainment on Saturday 16 April 2016 at Nut Point Centre in Christchurch to celebrate and protect our braided river ecosystems.

There is a gold coin entry to the event and you will be able to savour a glass of wine from Black Stilt Winery, enjoy and bid on a wide array of braided river-themed art, participate in a raffle of fine goods from the Mackenzie and Waitaki Basins, listen to live piano music and learn more about the endangered kaki/black stilt and the fascinating habitat in which they live.

The Kaki breeding programme is going so well and must continue - look at these champions releasing healthy young Kaki birds into the Tasman Valley in August 2015:
