The story of Creative Being

This carved spiral figure represents new life, our inner being and the eternal richness of our creative essence.

The figure has the head of a manaia, traditionally seen in Maori carving with a bird's head and a serpent's tail. Manaia are said to be the messengers between the earthly world of mortals and the domain of the spirits.

Sofia sees the manaia in this work as a reminder for us to connect with our Creative Inner Being and use the gift of our senses to appreciate textures, tastes, sights, sounds, smells, and the light of this bountiful world.
